Power Steering pulsating (knocking)

I have just started getting a pulsating/knocking noise when I turn my steering wheel (after the truck has been running warm for 30 min+). I feel the high pressure line pulsating/vibrating when the noise is being made (someone else is turning the steering wheel). I put in a rebuilt A1 Cardone about 75K miles ago.

I'm wondering if it is the steering box, pump or what ever the mechanism is at the firewall?

Any experience or ideas would be appreciated.......

Thanks

Check the fluid when it's acting up.
My bet is it's foamy.
Replace with synthetic fluid or better yet try a bottle of Lubegard power steering additive.
Most autoparts have it or here> http://www.amazon.com/Lubegard-Power.../dp/B0002JMLR4

Also check that the hoses aren't touching anything. When they are touching anything, it sends a strong vibrating re-verb.

I have been running RedLine Synthetic fluid since I replaced the Vacuum Pump about 6 months ago. I'll check for foam and if foamy, I'll try some lubeguard.

No foam and the pulsing noise only happens when it is warm/hot. I'm not sure if it is a bad PS pump, gear box or seering power booster. I may have to take it in..........

Here is the feedback and lesson learned.................
Both the power brakes and power steering are both driven from the power steering pump. My pump was going bad and the pulsing was the blow by of the fluid in the pump. Also noted the synthetic fluid (Redline - Red) I was using was black and cooked from the head generated by the blow by.[redface

Replaced the pump and good to go..............
