Power steering problem
The PS pump on the wife's started moaning when it started getting cooler. Then started leaking. I called Ron and ordered the seal kit thinking that would cure the leak. Well I took the truck into our deisel here and it was really leaking now. Jeff said he had never seen a leak out of the pump that bad. I left the truck and had to go back to Savannah for work and called Jeff the day after. Wouldn't you know the the seal was shot , but because the drive tooth was braken off and really made a mess. $780 for a vacuun pump and $60 for a new drive gears and Jeff's labor, the truck was on the road. The bad part is the pump is a Cummins part to Dodge for $ 388.
Story point? Find one cheap, buy it and keep it for a rainy day.

The p/s systems on these trucks are real nasty to bleed after they gulp some air. The best way is to fill up the reservoir, then start the truck and shut it down right away. Top it up again, then repeat this until level no longer drops. Then start truck, turn wheel 1/4 turn and shut off. Top up and repeat.
