hey the power seat in the truck isnt workin right and i was wondering if any of you have had this problem?
its the six way power seat and the pump on the rear lift just goes brshsh and then stops wont lift the seat...and no i dont way that much......and it does it even when your not in the seat.
it has power to it so i dont think it would be a fuse. so i dont know if its the lift or what?

 

Most likely the seat track and as far as I know it's non servicable......and I believe if it's still available for your truck it's on the "very" expensive list.

 

I have a 98 and 2 of the three motors went bad. I had them rebuilt and they have worked ever since. Dodge will only sell the seat bottom frame which includes the motors. $600.00+. Not a reallistic option.

 

One of the motors on the seat of my '97 had the plastic teeth on the gear strip out. I tore into it while I had the seat out adding foam. It would be pretty easy to pull one from a junkyard truck, assuming you can find one in a junkyard near you. I would think pretty much any Ram with power seats would work, well at least among the 2nd gens.

After reading what the dealer wanted I knew that wasnt an option. I just havent had time to hit up the junkyards and its currently set where I want it so I am in no rush.
