potential CTD purchase

Hoping to get some quick info. I found a 95 4x4 5 speed. long bed reg cab for sale, 145k miles. seems to be in pretty good cond. what issues should I be aware of?? Trans 5th gear? which pump, same as my 93? Anyone know which transfer case this has? Im real interested but have some reservations. the price is a little high at asking 11k. KBB says about 8500.00. its a strip down, no power goodies but A/C and a CD player. any info would be greatly appricated. I dont want to wait to long on it.

Sorry I have no clue on that year. Isnt that year a 12v? If so then try asking in that area of this site. Maybe you might get an answer faster. But I would say that I wouldnt pay over KBB for anything unless you clearly know its worth more, since sometimes KBB isnt right with older cars. Its always best to look for a vehicle when you dont really have to have it so your not forced to make a quick decision.

Thats what im thinking. 4x4s are pletty slim pickings here and usually well used. Is there any photo ads on line in the seattle area? im willing to travel for the right truck. dont really care what year, really prefer a 5 speed and must be 4x4 long bed. prefer mostly stock, strip down model is ok,good condition, under 150k miles and around $8000.00 give or take.
There really is a huge difference in price per the area it seems, long ago I used to wheel and deal a lot and would find this the case.
Thanks a bunch!!

Not to scare you, but I'd start here: http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1995-index.htm

http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/trouble...2v_trouble.htm

I have the 95 brochure, and it shows the 5 speed to have 175 hp @ 2500 rpms and 430 lbs of torque @ 1,600.

Now the important stuff.....BOMBING.
http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/more_power/power_p7100.htm

The transfer case might be the 241, but I'm not sure. That # stands out in my head for some reason.

For CTD's in your area, try http://www.autotrader.com and in the advanced search, put 6 cyl in (# of cylinders) to rule out the gassers.

Good luck!

you know I went through the same thing that you are over a year ago and I'm happy I DID NOT go by any KBB book as according to it I paid WAY too much for my 95 2WD truck. I wanted a loaded automatic, club cab in either 2 or 4 WD and i found it . Clean but overpriced. Mine has not been bombed but more of upgraded, about 4,000.worth. It already had 160K on it and other than the lousy heat(in cab) problem that I did fix . it has been faithful 20K later.
Ask the guy if he had the KDP(killer dowel pin) done yet. thats real important with that mileage. A guy i work with lost his engine 3 months after i told him about it and his truck was immmaculant.
The truck you are looking at is a lot more common than what I wanted , but when i was looking I also found a 95 CC, 4x4,stick,stripper with only A/C and low mileage (80K) and i talked a co-worker into it. it has been bombed a bit and he loves it and that thing will fly. He also paid over the book price but I had already looked at few 'construction' type trucks and would not have been happy with em. first tell yourself what you really want it for and see if the one you are looking at fits the bill and that is what makes the price worth it or not. The pump is the P7100, not the VE you're used to. The P pump is excellent for making HP, but the only adjustment you'll be familiar with is the star wheel. Gotta buy parts to turn this one up, can't just turn screws. Way more potential, though.
