Pass Door Unlocking on its Own

A couple of times in the last week the passenger door of my '95 has unlocked itself on it's own while I was driving. I seem to recall this is a not-uncommon problem with our 2nd Gen trucks. Where should I start looking for the problem?

Start by checking the wiring in your door jams, both sides. Over time the wires flexing back and forth can break-up the insolation on the wires causing them to make contact, or ground out. This will cause that sometimes. Grab hold of the harness and giggle it. Not saying this is it but I have repaired several harnesses over the years. My previous truck would unlock the pass door everytime I would close the drivers door. This became a pain in the butt without keyless entry.

My door locks will work with the key fob and when I get over 18 MPH they lock. But the buttons on both doors no longer work. The electric windows still work fine. How come both buttons stopped working at the same time?

If you lose power to your driver door switch neither switch will work. Check your wires also and the check your drivers side switch for power.
