Thanks Pete. I've been working on the bed, lots of paint underneath & 6 cans of bedliner on the inside of the inner fenders. I had quite a few dings to fix in the new bed, but man is it solid.

I got my bed ready for primer. I'll be shooting it some time this week, after my brother gets his truck out of my garage. I cleaned up my wiring under the hood, then painted my cowl, inner fenders & block. I just gotta paint the valve cover & airhorn orange & that will be done. I also set the bumper in place to get ideas on color.

From my point of view, the black bottom darkens the whole truck and I think detracts from the orange to a certain extent. I would try to stay with a lighter color so it doesn't make everything look "heavy and dark". I hope this makes sense. By the way, great job on this project. I have done several cars and bikes and I feel for the time and effort you have put in on this.

Can you color match the Linex or Armorthane to the orange? I have seen some that are close to the actual color and looks pretty stout. I just really like that color and all that black down low is a little much.. FWIW

I was gonna do that, but problem is that this color changes too much. No colors can match it at all times.

Jamie i kind of think silver on the body lowers and black on the bumper would look great.

We did the black spray on bedliner on my buddy's patriot blue truck and really like it in black on that one.

In your pictures the black does seem to distract from that nice orange how does it look to you in person ? I know when we talked about it a while ago i thought for sure black would be the way to go .

I thought black was the way to go, but I started looking at the orange bumpers & my mind went blank. I think I'm gonna leave the bumper orange, lower body black & say POI. If it doesn't look right, I'll build custom.

Sounds like a plan if it was my truck i would have done the same other than the bumper for that i would have stuck with the chrome bumper.

I have never been a big fan of the big plastic sport bumpers. I have a 96 black sport gas truck with the painted steel and i like the looks of that as well.

Jamie as long as you do not use any pink or lime green on that - you are going to have a very nice looking truck.

Just come on hurry up and finish painting it you have been dragging us along forever what are trying to do get the award for the longest running thread ever

You know i am just yanking your chain
Keep doing the high grade work you have been - don't rush it here at the end.

Thanks. Hey don't tell me to hurry up! I asked if anyone would be interested in a project thread in the very beginning. I planned on it taking all winter from the get-go.
