Overload springs... yea or nea?

I have a 3500 and it looks to have a large heavy duty leaf spring under the spring pack in the rear. I was just given a nice set of takeoff Hellwig 2500lb. over load springs. Figured the ride already sucks so the over loads would allow me to handle any load I want to get into. Any pros or cons on the overloads. It wont raise the rig at all just more grunt from what I understand?

I used to run Helwigs on my half tons before moving into 3/4 tons.

I prefer airbags now, but if you have free helwigs, they always worked well for me.... Should give you a decent ride with a load on.

Im thinking for free thay cant hurt too much and they might be a little insurance if I do push the weight limit a bit. Thanks for the input.

They definitely help with the load, you gotta watch the springs near the shackles, though if you go too far, they can get a pretty good bend in them, which probably isn't good....

I prefer air bags because they are adjustible depending on the load.
