Overload springs,
Overload springs,
Need to install overload springs, Do the overload spring stops bolt onto the frame ???
Also need a sway bar, also for bolt on....????
Should I hit the junk yards or try Hellwig for the sway bar?
Need to beef up the truck for the camper, any recomendations???

I have air bags and like them alot. I also have Rancho 9000 shocks. I don't have a sway bar. I looked at the Hellwig sway bar but with the Rancho's on stiff or just one setting down I don't feel I need a sway bar I am quite stable. Some people say the air bags can blow but they have been on semi's for the last 30 years and I have never blown one. Check the pic in my gallery my camper is quite big 10,296 lbs gvw full of water, fuel and 2 occupants . I drive alot of mountain driving curves hills and so on.
I have Duratough overloads, which added 6 leafs to each side, and are heavier than the original spring packs. Look in my gallery. The stops bolted to the frame, and are adjustable with 3 holes for when they hit. The ride is rough when the truck settles on them with a load, but they work nice for me.
Thanks all...
crobtex: right at 3k for the camper, wife keeps adding stuff
Pike: thanks, on the holes ,
I see that the airbags require cutting the box flange back.
not sure if I want to do this,
At Present, Plan A: add stops/overloads, add the sway bar and Maybe? rancho air shocks to set the level when
loaded... Any comments on the air shocks?
tryed them 20+ years ago, did't hold air after 2 years..
forgot what make they were...
Also was looking at fabing up some brackets to install
air bags ( off the chevy ) in place of the bump stops,
like a timbren , between the frame and the ear on the spring spacer....
This is my 5 th truck , that i'm setting up for a TC, each one has been a learning experience.....
Usualy my truck runs 80-90 % loaded with the truck
camper, was doing 20k miles a year, so ride & driveability is important,
LOVE THAT CUMMINS POWER!!!!!
