no lights after installing gauges

99 3500 6spdspd

All fuses are good,

Everything worked until we snapped the pillar back up, then nothing, checked fuses and checked for pinched wires

There is also a constant power plug that is now also dead, we were using it for power for the CB,

It looks like place for a relay but there's nothing there in either of our trucks,

Mine is a 2000

Check the fuse panel on the driver's side of the dash?

Thanks, but all of the fuses and relays are good,.

We're checking the headlight switch right now but they are pretty simple and i can't see how it could fail,

Jumping power to the appropriate terminal in the plug gets us lights, but ki think we have a power problem before the switch that is somehow tied into the terminal we were using for CB/constant power

Many times checking fuses by just looking doesn't work.
Use a meter or test lamp.

If you didn't blow a fuse and everything worked before you started then about the only other thing it could be is a disconnected or melted wire most likely in the areas where you worked.

My experience is 99% of electrical problems are owner induced.

Yeah i know that, anD i know we caused it, but we've looked around and can't find anything, there was also no smoke or funny smells (other than my brother)

I guess we could check the back of the fuse panel, is there an easy way to do that without being a contortionist

Did you check the IOD fuse, the one in the yellow plastic cover?

I've had this problem before, turned out my wire splice actually cut the wire. Whatever you used for connecting the wires, re-connect.

Those fuses appear to be good as well.

And we didn't splice into any wires, all of our connections were made at the fuse panel

Perhaps you have 2 problems..I seem to remember that there is not much extra wire to those power outlets and I have accidentally pulled the plug off the back before and they are very hard to reach. Did you take power for the lights from the cigaret lighter light? The panel lights are dim-able and controlled by fuse #5 in the interior fuse panel. If you didn't take your light power from there where did you get it and is it dim-able? Do your dash lights work?

Both sides of the fuse are dead regardless of headlight switch position
