Do a search on here for no buss. I had that problem earlier this summer. There's a couple things that can cause it. Mine was a dirty connection in the main fuse panel under the hood. There's a big plug with all the dash wires coming out of it in that fuse box. I think it's bolted down. I pulled it apart and blew it out with air, and it fixed it. Had to do it twice, the first time only lasted a day. Been good for 5 months or so.

Do a search and you'll find a couple threads on it.

I pulled that bolt out of the fuse panel. Cleaned the connections, sprayed with electrical oil, and tightened it back down. Still have issue. Did your tach still work? mine does, just nothing else. Also, the alternator is not charging.

I am not picking.. But I would use an electronics cleaner only, not anything with lubrication of any sort in it. On low voltage circuits the oil can cause connection issues. You want those plugs dry.

The thread said to unplug it and see if gauges com back if so that's the problem.I will post later today when I find out. hope this helps,But I will let you know what I find.

Hey MKrenn I put the sensor on truck and it fixed everything doing on with truck. But my tuuck is a 97 I don't know where yours is located cause mine WASNOT behind the starter it was on the front of motor right above the harmonic balancer just unplug and take out two bolts and replace plug and go. I hope you have the same luck. GOOD LUCK.

I had that intermittently for quite a while over the last two years, would chime and show the Air Bag warning light and then the gauges would drop out, usually the tach would keep workign but not always. Codes were both ECM and PCM.... Dodge had a TSB on it and a retrofit kit for it for 99 or 98 models, I got that and put it in, helped for a little while, replaced the gauge cluster, replaced the connectors, etc. The local diesel guy worked on it off and on forever and told me numerous times it was fixed only to fail again on the way home.... He never gave up though and did a lot of studying and talking to people trying to get it figured out, and I think he was successful this last time (I shouldnt have said that) after redoing most of the factory connections behind the dash. Not sure what else he might have done, I'll ask him to check out the forum and post something

Trust,
I'll take any advise you may still have. I have tried everthing including taking my instrument cluster out. I bought an OBDCOM scanner and that cant communicate with it either. It just times out.
VERY VERY frustrating. Tach still works too.

Things I have tried:
unplugged PCM - no change
unpplugged CTM - no change
Checked bolt in main fuse panel including taking it out and unplugging connector - no change
Alternator does not charge and has been replaced.
PCM & TPS replaced

Thanks,
