Need Help Lift pump or VP44

Shortly after fuel up my 2001 2500 4X4 stock with 160,000 started acting up under acceleration 1.75 rpms like running out of fuel. So I changed fuel filter and drained with lever, added sea foam and another additive, thinking bad fuel . It did not help! Truck starts and runs great except over 1.75 rpms while driving. So then I ran codes (PPCU, P1492, P1693) came up. So I need to know which pump needs to be replaced and is this something I could do my self on a tight budget and whats a good replacement pump?

P1693 is just a companion code. that went with this one..
P1492 Ambient/batt temp sensor volts too high
I dont see vp-44 or lift pump dealing with these codes.. now do you have a fuel pressure guage hooked up so you know exactly what your lift pump is supplying to the injection pump..... what kind of lift pump is it.. oem.. these are common to fail or start failing and not supply enough fuel through the rpm's . this could be a problem.. get the pressure checked or you can be dealing with a dead pedal spot.. APPS reset you can try. als was your tank low on fuel when this happened perhaps drivin a long hill or incline.. get your pressure checked. confirm you lift pump is working... can also go to start the truck turn key over without starting this will kick on your lift pump. listen to see if its running..do this stuff and then look into vp-44 . hope this helps
and yes the bluechip info above is good info.

You need to take it to a parts house and get a good scan. Mine kept coming up with P1693 and it turned out to be 2021 (APPS Sensor), $165 vrs $2000.
