muffler for 95 Ram 2500

I have to put a new muffler in my 1995 Ram 2500 diesel 4x4, auto trans.
I wanted to have it done at a shop rather than crawl under the truck in the snow, but it looks like that will be too expensive.
Two shops have told me the muffler will cost $330, but Rock Auto shows a mufflers for my vehicle that cost about a third of that. There's even one on closeout for about $50. So I'm going to order a muffler and do the work myself.
I just want to make sure first I can use this muffler. It's a Walker 21131 with 4" inlet and 3" outlet. It's listed on Rock Auto under the 95 Ram 2500 diesel.
The muffler that's on the vehicle now is a different size, so I'll have to replace the pipes before and after the muffler or use adapters. Presumably going with a $50 muffler, the total parts will cost less than $300, even with the extra parts I'll have to buy. Am I overlooking anything about this job? I've replaced mufflers and exhausts before, but only on gassers.

Thats what I did on Brownie, even the same Walker number on closeout! My Pipes were stock though, a straight bolt on.

Check with your local Auto Parts stores, the factory pipes are typically quite cheap compared to Mufflers, and it would make the job incredibly easy.......
It did just occur to me that you say the pipes in front of the current muffler are different, that was the Cat......... You might have to play with the muffler location if you were to use a stock tailpipe, for a visual of the system, go to Walkers site and check out how it is made stock.
