melted dash wires need help
melted dash wires need help
heres the story..
i was driving down a rough road the other night. and got almost to where i was goin when i smelt wires buring in my truck. then all sudden dash lights went out.
didnt think to much of it. so i went to the nearest gas station and bought some fuses. noticed that my tailight brackets broke and my drivers tail light was hangin out. replaced the one for the dash lights.... nothing..... so said screw it and went home. looked into it the next day. found that i had no blinkers dash lights or running lights... blinkers was a easy fix. that was just a fuse. the dash lights not so easy. found the pink with red chacer is burned from the headlight switch to the fuse block.
so i pulled my dash out. which by the was SUX *****.
i got the wire and ends out of the fuse box and the plug.
i went to napa today and the retard behind the counter goes i never seen those ends before. i know theres a recall but that does me no good now. since i need to fix the wires before i put the relay thats in the recall.
so i need to know where i can get the ends i need.
looks similar to some delphi connector ends.
Any Help Will Be Great.
Thanx N|ck

I've never opened up a "mini" fuse block before so not really sure... But have you tried Radio Shack? Is it anything special? Do you just need the female spade crimp ends that snap into the block somehow? A knowledgeable electronic/electrical supplier might be helpful, or even....the dealer! Good luck.
went to the local dealer today and the guy said i was the sencond guy this week that came to get some sort of a terminal but he said his computer only comes up with harness's not terminals so he sent me to the local parts store called united parts plus. and holy **** if the guy behind the counter had a book that had the ternimals.... he had to order them but ill have them tomarrow.... ill let ya know what i get...
yup go figure they dont fit. so now i am screwed. i dont know if i can by pass the fuze block and put in a "inline" fuse or what not.... i wonder if i can go to the scrap yard and get the dash wire harness... but im sure that wont be cheap....
any ideas??

i dont see why you couldnt use an inline fuse as long as you use the same amp rating you should be fine . its 12v not 480 3 phase if you know what i mean . sometimes stupid simple is better than all the ideas detroit can come up with .
My 95 had the same problem when I bought it. I just cut the wires close to the fuse block and then soldered new wires to them and slid heat shrink tubing over the connections. I really couldn't believe how small the wires were.
