Max Tire size on 16in stock wheels 2001 2500

Any one have a link to some kind of chart? Can I fit taller ones in the rear vs the front?

315/75/15 did not even come close to rubbing the rear of my 4x4, though they would definately rub before full lock on the front (even with the 2" leveling kit).

Considering the 265 was an option (came with tow package) I would say, yes, the 265 would be just fine.

In the back maybe, in front, no way.

You could go for the dragster look and put 35's in back, keep 30's up front.

I'm running 265's right now. No problems. I think you can go a lot bigger.

I put the 285 75R16 on before I did the leveling kit, they cleared fine, but made me want the leveling kit a lot more Now with the kit, up front 295 75R16 for sure would still clear, maybe 305 75R16.

I just installed 315-75-16s in the rear on stock wheels, the overall diameter is aprox 24.7. I have all stock suspension and it looks like I would still have room to maybe fit 36s in the rear. Hopefully now my truck wont get stuck in the desert as easy. Thanks for the help.

285's will work fine on a stock 4wd with no leveling kit. Buddy ran them on his 1995 for a couple years before he traded it.

Had 315's for a while the rubbed just the little tab on bottom of fender with leveling kit, know boys that have different offset wheels with leveling kit and 315's dont rub. Went down to 305's mainly to lower my gearing a little when in OD. Still need to go lower lugs too much in od unless ur doing 70. Wish i had 410 instead of 355 gears or 373

My truck came with 245 and has 265's on it w/a two inch leveling kit the tires look small. I was going to go with 305's and just checked my gear ratio and it's 3:55. Should I stay with a lower tire size like 295's or will I be wishing I had the 305's ? I do have a 80hp Van Aaken box, but I'm worried about the truck lugging with the bigger tires and high gear ratio.

Which tires do you like? I'm thinking about the Cooper ATR, BFG KO's or Pro Comp's.

I have zero rub with 305s. I think anything wider than that would stick outboard too much and make a real mess on dirty roads; my 305s are doing it somewhat, but not too bad. Splash guards would be nice to have with wider tires, even with 305s.

Mine came with 265's fromt he factory but they do look small in the fender wells. I was going to put on 285's but the dealer couldn't get that size in a 10 ply so I just stuck with what I had.
