looking for truck

Im in the market for a nice second gen truck with a full back seat.

can someone help clue me in on what "crew cab, ext cab, club cab ... bla bla" actually means? which one has four doors...?

also I would like as little electronic engine controls as possible.

what are the years to avoid, if any, and what features should I look out for?

thanks in advance for any constructive input.

Quad cab is the best you're going to find, with 2 reverse-opening doors. The back-seat is pretty minimal though, and if you NEED a "full" back-seat, you're gonna have to go to a third gen.

thanks... maybe "full back seat" is an overstatement... I just need a place to strap in two kid seats, they wont fit in the jump seats of my first gen.

do many of you have kids? how do you fit them? I was thinking about a roof rack...

My 13 year old & a friend fit in my 01 QuadCab pretty well. I don't know about adults though.
