Anybody running Liberator 285's on their 2500 ? Any opinions on 'em ?

I am, and for 400 bucks out the door, well u cannot beat them :-D i have on my truck, and have gotten 28K out of them with rotation and checking them once a week, and still have over 1/2 tread left! I run 55 PSI all around, and towing i air up the rears to 65

I do tow with them as well, just air em up right and you will have no issues..

Have them on the truck in my sig, and really like them, have towed several times with no problems.

 

Sounds like a good deal at Wally world. Just wondered how they were holding up !

 

The only things I don't like about them: The center tread pattern is not cut as deep as the rest and it goes slick faster than the outside. They may have fixed this by now. Also, it's either my wheel or one of the tires, but it took a lot of weights to balance it.

 

What PSI are you running in them ? I found when I went from 245's to my first 285's I could drop the PSI a lot. I was wearin the center out of my Cooper Adventurers.

 

its the tires...next to impossible to balance. my father ran a set on his 95 and at 67 mph the front end would shake so bad you sould see the hood bouncing. he took his truck back once a week to walmart and had them rebalance the fronts under warranty...this went on for 2 months until he sold the truck.

i then ran a set of liberator 285's...got 25k out of them with lots of burnouts, spinning tires, and other abuse. 64-69mph was the NO-ZONE...it was either slower or faster...but in that range it would give one heck of a back massage. they vibrated horribly and i was running ceramic "balancing" beads which should have taken care of it...but didnt.

you get what you pay for IMHO...i was broke at the time i bought the tires...this time around i have more cash and im getting pro comps
