leaking!

???Hi all, I'm new to the board, but have been lurking for some time. I just got a 1996 extended cab and I'm kind of confused. We had about 2 inches of rain last night & when I went out to the truck this morning, I found about an inch of standing water in the cab on each side with no water in the middle. This truck has had the carpet removed, so it was real easy to find the water. I couldn't see any obvious place where the water was coming in. Is there any place that these trucks are particularly prone to leak? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re:leaking!

Taking mine in thursday for "wet carpet" issues that were discovered when I was getting the smart controller wired in. Could either be a bad seal on your windshield or other's have had it leaking in from the rear "3rd" brake light... When I find out on Thursday, i'll update you!

Tony

Re:leaking!

same thing happened on my 95 standard cab. The culprit was the leaking 3rd brake light on the top of the cab. A little silicone around this light fixture should fix it up.

Re:leaking!

3rd brake light and also the air conditioner moisture hose leaks into the cab if it gets plugged smells like *** in your truck and soaks the rug on the passenger side!

UPDATE:

Wasn't the window or the rear brake light. Here's the bottom of my work order:

Leak found at A/C Heater Plenum. Removed A/C Heater Plenum. Replaced Heater Core. Checked for proper Operation and recharged A/C.

Be sure and mention that too if you haven't had yours looked at yet!

Tony
