just an alignmet or new front end parts?

Hey guys, I know these trucks are prone to front end falling apart. Mine is wrong...my steering wheel is upside down. SO my alignment is way way off. But It does tend to pull sometimes, and is a little loose at times. I don't expect this to handle like it was 1997, but would love to drive it with out constant suprises. So I am debating between just getting an alignement, or getting all new rods, ends, ect.....oprions.....please..thanks

with your miles, time to throw the whole NAPA parts book at that front end. jsut my best guess. Wont know until you start looking at it closely.

Id get a DSS steering box brace to keep the sector shaft supported, a good quality trackbar like a thuren or 3rd gen conversion and replace any joints in the front that are loose.
With the heavier stuff like the ball joints youll need to pry on them to see movement, if any.
Replace everything thats bad before you do an alignment so youre not doing it twice.
You can upgrade the tie rod ends, pitman arm and drag link with lukes links which last a lot longer.
Thuren fabrication also offers a nice steering linkage kit that converts to heim joints.

Hey guys, well i get some movement with just me yanking on them...so i think it might be worth doing it all. Also It looks like I am leaking power steering fluid, all by the pump is wet, and gunked but not low on fluid just yet. It does drive like **** right now, i mean its a 12 year old 3/4 ton, but it needs to get a little better then this. Is there one place that will sell everything I need in one shot. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg, I got this truck so it would last a while and don't want to go broke making it right again. Also Does anyone know of any good shops in the NYC area, that will do Everything, soup to nuts? I don't really have the time to get under there and start figuing out how to replace all that stuff...

Talk to Peter Gould at FixinRams. My leak was the vacuum pump seals. I don't know if your 12V uses the same setup or not. The phone call will save you missed diagnosis.
