Jack Location, where should it be?

I have a 2001 Quad Cab and the jack is under the rear seat. Going to put in a slide in camper and take a 3 or 4 week trip. We always seem to load the back seat area down with everything that won't go in the camper. With all that crap in there, if I need to get the jack out, I'll have to unload half the truck to get at it. GM used to keep the jack under the hood, where it can be had pretty easy. You guys got any ideas that might help me out here? Thanks, Varmint...

How about under the passenger seat? Maybe on a piece of foam so it settles into a little nest?

That or maybe underneath the center seat up front. There might be enough room under there for it to fit nice and snug.

Heck...just take it out. It ain't gonna lift your rig with the camper anyway...LOL

I have a 12 ton bottle jack that lives in the camper.

If you have a camper that extends off the back and drops down at the rear it will cover up your winch handle area for the spare tire. You can still get under the truck and turn the tube with a pipe wrench or similar though to operate the winch.

In closing...if you remount it in the cab...make sure it's secure. Don't want it flying about during a panic stop/accident.

Does your camper have the cubby holes that open from inside the camper and go into the bed are? Mine does. Would work fine.

Behrman, yes it does, but I can't use it.

Mine is an 8 ft camper, in a short bed truck. The cubbie hole opens right at the wheel well, which makes it useless. Thanks, Varmint...
