I've Got Shooting Mirrors!
I've Got Shooting Mirrors!
And not ones for target practice . . .
I picked up my set of flip up tow mirrors for the 12v today. Put them on, go to flip up the passenger side mirror, glass shatters and the head falls to the ground. Luckily I stood on the opposite side of the mirror when that happened. The spring retainer let go when I rotated the head up, the big spring shot the bottom of the mirror (spraying pieces of glass inside my cab because I had the window down), the head hit the ground and smashed more glass out of the mirror. Needless to say, I'm not happy.
I'll be going to the dealer tomorrow and see what they'll do for me. I'm sure they'll say I dropped the mirror on install, but I left everything as is. Arm is still on the door, and little shards of glass still on the passenger seat. Picked the big ones out before I though about taking pictures and leaving it so they can see the full extent of it. I'm just lucky I was standing on the opposite side of the mirror, would've had a face full of tiny sharp bits.
Oh well. Wish me luck.
