Information needed on model to purchase!
I am looking to purchase an older model Cummins. I was thinking 96 to 98 12 valve.
I know some of you are of the opinion the 98 is the 'creme de la creme' of all Cummins, but I have heard the two door models provide more leg room in the rear, is this true?
Engine/tranny problems with these models. Is there anything I should really look for? How many miles is too many? What's the going rate on these models, in decent shape?
This will be my first diesel purchase but I am kind of nervous about the big move. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Andrew

I would take the 98 due to the nicer interior. Which engine does it have a 12v or 24v? I have heard that a 98 12v's are great trucks but if it is a 98 24v there might be some trouble. I'm sure you will get a lot more post with better info than I can give you.
