I have my truck and I have replaced the front pads with some from AutoZone, but I have not done anything to the rear brakes. I know about a PAC brake, but what other options do I have to increasing breaking distance? Thanks guys

I'll venture to say that what he means is increasing brake life.
An exhaust brake will increase brake life up to 30%, according to exh. brake manufacturers, YMMV.

 

Try replacing the rear wheel cylinders with 30 mm cylinders (Napa #4637337) first and see if your impression of stopping power changes. I guarantee it will. For $12 each and an hour of your time it's one of the best modifications going. You can even order online by clicking here

That's over a 23% increase!

On a '96 2500 the stock cylinders are 24 mm, you will have even more braking power.
