Distance Sensor???

Speedo quit last night coming home from the gym, I smacked the dash but no luck. I'm thinking its the distance sensor that failed. Factory service book doesn't say much except how to remove it. Any other checks???

Make sure it's not the adapter or drive gear. They seem to get stripped out pretty commonly.

I tore into it late yesterday and found that the stem of the driven shaft, the one in the transfer case, was snapped. I called my parts man and he said there are a few left, but you would think they are made from gold. Ouchh!!!

If you are talking about the the adaptor that screws into the side of the transfer case, I had one made by a speedometer shop in PA. It was $55 and that included shipping. I will find their name If you want.
