I searched, I promise.
I searched, I promise.
I know steering problems have been beat to death. I did search, but couldn't find anything fitting my problem.
Driving down the road I don't have any problem steering, but when I slow down to turn it feels as if the steering wheel studders. After making the turn if I let go of the wheel, you can see the steering wheel studder as it trys to return to center.
Any thought?
Fluid level is at correct level and if I look in the reservior I can see the fluid circulate.
Thanks!

Have you gone offroad lately, and possibly hit the steering stabilizer? Mine got damaged in a accident, and bent the shaft, and it would stick when turning. Just take it off, and cycle it through its stroke, see if it binds, if not, then the prob. is probably in the u-joints, or the box.
Sounds like axle shaft U Joint. Jack up front end and put on safety stands and turn steering wheel in one direction and lock it. Make sure T-case in 2 Hi. Turn one wheel at a time to see which one turns hard in spots. That is the bad U joint.
Have fun

Thanks everyone. I didn't have a chance to check it last night, but will check tonight. I'm going to buy a new stabalizer shock as I've been getting more bump steer lately.
