I put 3rd gen wheels on my 2nd gen truck, now i have a question?

I love the way they look, however when i look at them from the rear, it looks narrow. So has anyone done anything to make it look better? Would spacers work? I have fender flares, so i could take them off, however i dont want to and the paint is scuffed under them from rubbing over the years.

Check the wheel backspacing, it may be different.

Yup, the backspacing is different. IMO the truck is too heavy to safely run spacers/adapters.

I just took off 3rd gen wheels on mine. I love the way they look, but wanted a little wider wheel, and the B.S. isn't right for our 2nd gen's. My right fr. tire nearly rubbed a hole through my brake line. Cooper 33x12.50 tires

I have some rubbing issues with mine near full lock. I don't know what's different in the front ends from 2nd to 3rd. My dad has the exact same wheels I have on his 05 and he runs the next size larger tire (305/70) with no rubbing. I think modified H2 wheels are the way to go.

3rd. gen. 265/70 Mich. on my 2wd 1998.5 2nd. gen.
3rd gen rim is wider and seems to be off-set to the inside
Outside edge of rim seems stick out the same as the original 6.5 wide rims but I may be wrong. No noticeable rubbing
Update: 2nd. gen 6.5 wide rim- 4.5" off-set to the inside.
3rd gen. 8" rim- 6 1/4" to the inside

Say it isn't true

I just bought a set of 3rd gen alloys & Nitto 295/70/17's. Is it true that they will rub? No leveling kit on mine.

I've got 295's on mine and they do rub on the drivers side a bit.

Running 06 rims with 265*70/17 Nittos on mine, no rub on any lock.

The alloy wheels are wider than the steels (track width) due to thickness of the hub area. Mine doesn't look thin at all.
