I Found One!!!

I did it.

I found a 98 quad cab 3500 dually 4 wd 12 valve and bought it. Doing all the checking and changing of fluids. Had to drive it 9 1/2 hrs to get it home. It was a good drive. As with anything used I need to do a few things, but, I didn't have naything else to do anyway.

It does have the plastic headlights that are fogged over. Does anyone have a good source or company that makes a good replacement?

It came with the banks dual air intake, guages and the exhaust brake.

Now i have to sell my 93.. It has been a good truck and is in good shape so I hope I won't have trouble selling it.

So I have joined the 2nd gen group.

I guess I will have to change my signiture soon.

dont waste your time with replacing or trying to clean the headlights, get a set of sport headlamp assy's, 10x better light!! (and you will need the headlight relay mod)
there are posts out there on this subject

been there done that with the cleaning/ replacing with aftermarket/tried 100w bulbs, best mod to date was going to sport lamps, huge improvement in beam pattern and light out put>

BTW congrats on new truck

Ditto on the Sport Headlights conversion. It's one of the best things I ever did to my truck.

Nice work...looks great!

I want to do the sport light conversion, so I'll need to read up on that modification as well.

I am a little jelous of the leather interior, if nothing else would be easier to keep clean. Hope it works out well...

cheap yellow headlight fix...spray "off" bug spray on them and wipe off. this will help till your budget allows replacement.

Novus #2 fine scratch remover is available at plastic stores. I bought a 7 oz bottle, and it's enough to do a hundred headlights and any other plastic that's dull that you may want to polish up. It was about $8 as I recall.

Nice find!!!!!
as for the headlights 3m sells a buffing kit. We have it at the shop I work at takes about a hour to do 2 really bad headlights. Basically you need sand paper going from 500grit to 800 to 1000 wet to 3000wet. start with the 5 and work your way up. Don't be afraid to take off some plastic in the beginning. When you hit the 1000g wet the lens and sand like a fool some more. rinse and go o the 3k wet. once done with that take some medium buffing compound and a 4 inch or smaller buffing wheel and polish them up. I have done probably 200 set of headlights on customers cars and i am amazed as to how they come out every time. wish i had before and after pics of my truck.

Nice find. Looks like a pretty well taken care of truck.

The Sport headlights will eventually fog too. Mine were on my 2000 Sport.

Tacomaman thats a good tip. I was thinking real fine wet or dry paper would might work good
I scraped some of my plastic lenses and a layer of yellowed crusty plastic came off, then I tryed laquer thinner, it worked a little too and underneath plastic buffed out nice and clear
