Help! Power steering pump fried...........

The power steering pump on my 99 2500 has been leaking for about 6 months. I was hoping to baby it along until I could get it traded off, but no such luck. I was hauling to a barrel race on Saturday and the steering started feeling really tight. Its done this before when there was air in the lines, so I didnt think too much about it until I started smelling something burning. Then it started making a horrible noise and vibrating. All the powersteering fluid was gone and on the trailer, and id only driven 10 miles!

I need ideas on what to do with this. Ive got one estimate from the dealer for $640 for the pump, seal and labor.

Should I trade the truck as is (as i have one found and they are working on financing me) or fix it then trade??? Otherwise this truck is sound. Had new brakes last week, and drives good. Body is sound.

Any and all ideas would be appreciated!!!!!! Thanks.

Are you getting a new vaccum pump for that price? Sounds kinda high for just a power sterring pump alone.
