Help with id for transmission switch.

The reverse lights on my 98 auto 12V quit, so I was looking underneath to find the transmission mounted switch, and test it. There is a 2 wire switch behind the pan, on the underside of the housing that the transfer case bolts to. There is also a 3 wire plug on the drivers side. It is right above the pan and below where on of the oil hard lines is connected, I can see one of the wires is loose form the plug. I would expect the 2 wire plug to be the reverse switch, but the 3 wire plug is broken. Can anyone help me id which one is what? I'm expecting a trip to the yard for a plug and harness regardless, but what does that switch do?

The switch for the back up and neutral start is above the pan near the shift linkage.
