Help cleaning chrome stacks

Ok I have a pair of slant cut stacks I used to run on my truck....then I went to turnouts.....then sold the system.

Well while I had the slants on the truck a plastic trash bag got melted to one of them.

Just wondering if any of you guys know of a way to get that plastic bag off without harming the chrome? I'm considering running these stacks again....but need to get that melted plastic off there first.

Thanks,

Depending on the plastic bag material, try a thick cloth completely soaked with oven cleaner, wrap around plastic (in the shade, not direct sun) and let sit. If the plastic isn't softened up and ready to come off in 30 minutes, it won't come off with oven cleaner.

A Dremel tool and mother's mag and aluminum polish worked for me with a similar problem.

Depending on how thick the plastic is now that it has melted you may be able to get it cold somehow, maybe a CO2 extinguisher or a freezer or just winter and flake it off.
OR
Use a heat gun or some sort of heat source to make it soft again then gently scrape it off.

I run into something similar once and it seems like I used a little heat then rubbed the plastic off. Most plastic becomes brittle after being melted.
