heater core removal

I am in the process of removing my heater core and I am down to the last thing , I can't figure out how to get those a/c lines broke loose at the fire wall in the engine compartment so I can pull every thing out into the cab . Factory service manual says it takes a a/c line diconnect tool which I do not have .Is there any other way to get it loose without this tool?

NO, You can try but will end up damaging the fitting. You can get a whole set for less than $10 from almost any auto parts place and some hardware stores. Ensure that the AC is DISCHARGED before disconnecting.
