Heat blowing lukewarm- Heater core or something else?

I know living in Houston it doesn't get super cold, but it would be nice to have the heat when it is needed.

Any thoughts fellas?

^^^what he said. Both should about same temp. If hose feeding the core is hot and the one going back to engine is not.....core is stopped up. Engine temp okay? Might check the t-stat too....make sure it's not stuck open.

If your coolant temp is coming up your stat is ok but if you still have no heat the core could be stopped up.
Disconnect both heater hoses and flush the core out both ways with a garden hose.

As already mentioned, if the heater core hoses are the same temp when the engine is at full operating temp then check the blend door under the dash. It may not be moving all the way over to hot.

I have the same issue with no heat. Checked my blend door and it won't move past the half way point in relation to the temp switch. Would the heater treater mod fix my problem or do I need a new motor?

I'm not sure what the heater treater mod is but if you know the blend door isn't moving all the way then why not just replace the door motor?

Darn Dodge is what it is. I've got four Rams and heater works best on all of them when it's 90deg outside.
Aside from that?
Make sure heater core isn't stopped up. Then make sure the blend door is working correctly. (as has been mentioned already).
Lastly? Let it idle and warm up for about an hour and drive 100 miles uphill.
That last thing is what I have to do.

I changed my heater core last weekeknd. the outside air was -27 C. When needle on temp gauge was at 90.C i could not hold my hand in front of dash vent from heat. Heats like a new truck again.
