Question Headlights

Ok, this may be a simple question, but
I have a Headlight that Keeps turning on and off.
If you tap it with your hand, it turns off and on.
Someone told me that dodge is famous for bad contacts or bad ground on thier lights.
Is this true or has anyone got any tips before I start.
Looks a little tight to get into (infront of battery on passenger side)
Clean contacts??? or ????

Thanks in advance.

PK

sounds more like a bulb filament is loose and moving around. Take it out and look at the fillament while shaking it.

could be a loose ground....but doubt that dirty contacts would do that....

On the ford I have when I turned the headlights on sometimes only one would come on. I could give the one that was off a good smack and it would come on. This was due to the filament in the bulb being loose and only worked for a while till it finally went out for good. New set of bulbs took care of the problem.

PK... I have the exact same thing happening to my truck also, cept it's my drivers side headlight. Darn thing wig-wags when i'm driving down the Mary hill Bypass! I'm thinking that it's a loose filament. I bought a new bulb but space is so limited to get your hand in there i can only get the retaining ring off but i cant seem to get the old bulb out. Hopefully when it warms up around here i'll try again.

That sounds like the problem I had about 2 weeks ago. I changed the bulbs in the parking lot of the store in Hinton.. it was only about 0°F Yes, they are hard to get out of there, the plug is the tough part to get off. The wires are just long enough to get the bulb out of the head light but not long enough to get it out where you can see them... A few barked knuckles and some harse words, but its not that bad..
