Re:Better Headlights needed.
Sylvania makes a set of replacement lights that are rated at 4000K of power. This is just below hid but much brighter that stock or "blue". They can be found at most any parts store and run about $50 set. They are called SilverStar.

Tim

I hear that some people have had problems with melting headlight housings with higher wattage bulbs. I too, would like to put in brighter bulbs but am a little nervous about that. Any input would be appreciated on this one too. Thanks for starting the thread Diesel Phil.

The Sylvania bulbs are not higher wattage, just a different lighting technique. check www.sylvania.com for more info.

Tim

Re:Better Headlights needed.
Maybe LukeS can help us here, The 9004CB (cool blue) look like the same wattage as factory (65w/45w), but the 9004ST (Sliver Star) look like a higher wattage (70w/50w). I do know that there is some issues about light switch's burning up with bigger bulbs. What can our stock non-sport switch's handle?

I installed a set of Cool Blues ($9 a piece) and boy is the color much whiter, better night vision, won't blind people and will now not buy any normal type of bulbs ever again.

I installed the SilverStars this past weekend. They are 70W high, 50W low. Much cleaner, not as yellow, light. I have never heard of the headlight switch "burning up" by using slightly higher wattage beams. Aren't the headlights controlled by a relay? I will post pictures as soon as I can. You can definetly tell a difference, now if I can only fix those weak back-up lights.
J.C. Whitney has halogen backup bulbs that replace the OEM stuff, I think I am going to give them a try. I'm not real happy with my backup lights, but I don't really want to add aftermarket lights. I'll let you know.

Re:Better Headlights needed.
Well why were at the subject of head lights. How do you adjust them if you can? Both of my head lights are aimed to the right and it is starting to drive me crazy. I went through the owners manual and it only shows how to change them. And I don't have a service manual. Thanks for the help. -Anthony
