Question headlight switch wiring ?? long

hi
well the headlight switch meltdown finaly got me .

i have the relay wire harness for the headlights , and it workes great .

but,

i let the truck sit for app 1 hour other day with parking lights on and on the way home with them on i thought i smelled brake getting hot as i just renewed the front ones .

turned out to be headlight switch .

only 1 terminal melted , it is the one with a pink wire with red stripe ?

does anyone have a diagram and can tell me what this wire comes from and supplyes current to .
put a meter to it and has 12.4 volts when not connected to switch ?

got new switch and same wire seems to get hot with parking lights on after 2-4 min.?
never had a prob befor now ? maby it got hot and i just did not know ?

is there a connection under hood i can use to install a relay to drop the current load like the headlight one ?

give me the bad news !

Hey I feel your pain, I had an awful time with mine and the wireing grimlin hasn't complently left yet lol. I replaced the headlight switch only to find out it didn't fix my problem. Mine was kinda melted like yours and with the advice of a few other guys I robed a pigtail end out of my buddies junked 1500. His had done the same thing b/c it was spliced. Even if your wires look fine that could be the culprit at least mine was. I have a hanes repair manual but the wire diagrams always confuse me. Im going to take a look and see if I can see where the pink with red stripe wire goes but don't hold your breath.
