Headlight problems..help

When is switch from hi beam to low, sometimes the low beam is out. Flick it a few times and low beams come back on. Is this a bad relay or something. Anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks..

Multi function switch on steering post. Have read that some just sprayed it with electronics cleaner and worked it to get crud out of contacts.

I agree with the stalk switch. If it works sometimes but not always you should always suspect the part that gets the most abuse first. The switch on the column gets moved the most and isn't sealed so dust and grit can get into it.
