Head light and fog light replacing...

01' 4x4.
I did the "headlight" restore route and that worked for a while but they are yeller' again and my fogs have holes in them.
So, I just picked up a new set of headlights w/turn signals from Dodge. Had to order the new fogs. I know that after market parts can be had for about half of what I paid, but I prefer genuine Mopar and Cummins parts on my truck.
Anyway, does the bumper have to come off to replace the lights? I would like to paint the black plastic piece black again or replace if necessary. IIRC, I had the headlights out for some reason and the plastic piece got scarred up.

what part are you talking about to paint. the headlights are fun but no bumper removal and fog lights you can get to them looking up and under the back of bumper. if you have never had your bumper off its pretty easy just 3 adjustable bolts on each side. and the silly support sticks for the bumper.

the bumper cap no it doesn't but they come off easy if the plastic pinch clips dont break. in the past I used duplicolor bumper paint turned out good. just prepped the surface good and used a plastic adhesion spray prior.

When I replaced my headlights, I just unclipped the black plastic top cap and removed it. This also helped when it came time to change the fog lights too. Just be careful with the clips, mine were brittle and I broke two of them in the process. Hope that helps!
