Ground point

My truck's electrical gremlins were driving me mad. I thought I had checked all ground connections- not so. There is one ground connector below the drivers side battery that is mounted on the horizontal sheetmetal there. The connector had a good connection to the body, but the cables going to it were corroded to a point where only the clamp held the cable in.- so I had a perfect looking connector with a very high resistance to ground.
Effects were- turn signal left leads to windshield wiper activation
Washer pump illuminates left turn signal indicator
left turn signal extremely weak, but no indication of faulty bulb- the filament got lit but the marker light got the same amount dimmer as the filament lit
Choppy idle-
Lift pump cycle shortened (intermittant)
Random dinging from the CTM

These problems are gone now. (I shortened all the cables and soldered them to a 16mm2 cable that I routed to batt- )

When in doubt, throw another ground on it. Block to batteries, block to frame, battery to body, heck even battery to frame. Extra grounding can't hurt, it's cheap and easy to do. When in doubt, ground it out. Thanks for the info. KD

Absolutly!!
Electrical issues are almost always a poor ground. I have replaced all my ground cables with #4 and #2-0 wire welding cable (mainly for the stereo) and every single one I removed, the wire was all green and corroded when I stripped back the jacket. I also added a 2-0 run from the block to the frame and one more from the frame to the sheet metal inside the cab close to where my amps are all mounted. Ground is good
