Grinding when turning hard.
Just wanted some feed back from you guys. When I turn my truck sharply to the left I hear/feel a grinding noise on my drivers side wheel. Is this normal for a 4x4?

That doesn't sound like tires rubbing to me, I bet it drive line related. Most likely the axle shaft joints, or front hub bearings. Ither way, it will need some attention, and yes it will be fairly expensive. Use quality replacement parts, and do it right, the other side is probaly not far behind.

Re:Grinding when turning hard.
I looked under my truck at the driverside axle at the wheel and didn't see anything on the axle shaft u-joint. Doesn't appear to have anything wrong with it so I may take the tire off to investigate further. Truck only has 42K miles, it shouldn't have any issues. I was told my ball joints are worn so maybe these trucks aren't so tough after all. I can only imagine what the grinding sound is, it acts like it's binding up when I turn hard to the left. The joy's of troubleshooting.

Re:Grinding when turning hard.
Found that the "grinding" noise was really my tire rubbing my lower control arm on sharp turns.
No bearing or other issue.
