good deal?

Well i found a second generation 2500 reg cab, long bed, cummins/auto, all power options. in good shape for $4400. The only catch is it has a rebuilt title due to the bed getting taken out, the bed has been replaced and there is no other damage. is this a good deal?? it is a 2wd

As long as there is no frame repairs it sounds good to me. Although its hard to believe the insurance co. totaled the truck over a bed. Look her over REAL GOOD. Thats cheap even for a total. I recomend checking VIN very closely as well. With a totaled truck and a stolen truck you can move a couple of numbers around and suddenly good as new. There are hidden ID numbers thieves overlook. they are stamped into the frame in places like on top of the frame under the bed. Make sure the numbers match. Is this seller someone who is reputable. Is he someone you know. Or is he new around town.
This may be a very good deal....It may not. Be careful,do your homework, and make sure the story is true. The other thing about a salvage title is value is almost nil. Thats why so cheap. I have worked closely with US Customs in Norfolk and this is a popular scam in import export of autos.
