Question Front End

I been driving my new mustang for a few weeks now. yesterday it rained all day, I live on a red clay road, did not want to get the car all red so I drove the truck today on a 300 mile trip , I know I am not a bad driver or a real speeder, BUT I just could not keep the old ram inbetween the lines, the truck was wondering all over the road, I had just changed out the upper and lower ball joints, when I did get back home the first thing I did was look at the front end, cant find anythig wrong, so guys WHATS UP WITH THIS , any one know what to look at or replace?????????? let me add this I was fighting the truck on the hole trip

Try adjusting the steering box. Screw on top with a 5/8" nut. Turn it to the right 1/4 turn.

Check the track bar at the balljoint end(drivers side).Have someone wiggle the steering wheel while you inspect the balljoint.
They dont last long, just did mine again today. There are high-end trackbars out there that will hold up.Napa has a lifetime warrantee bar for around 130 bucks, expect to cash in the warrantee about once a year....

If you haven't driven the truck for a couple weeks, check the pressure in the front tires.
Low pressure will seem like something loose in the front end.

The allen will turn, when I adjusted mine it was stuck pretty hard. I believe that you are supposed to have the steering centered when you adjust the screw, though.

I noticed you live in Navarre I live off of 399 in Navarre. I have been fighting frontend issues also I just got a track bar from Napa for the second time in 10K miles I also have a DSS, but what really fixed my front end clunk was zip ties in the slip joint on the intermediate shaft.
I would check tire pressure, track bar then steering box, DSS will fix steering box out put shaft, if its not to for gone.

I am usially working on my rig everyday.
I too also have a 98 12 valve lets get together and talk diesels.
Will you be going to Suncoast open house and on Feb 11.

talk to ya later
