Front bumper swap ?

As anyone replaced their front bumper on 1998-1999 with the new 2001 style ? The new style is all plastic and looks like it would just fit over the old, but not sure if thats the case. Mine on my 1998 is very rusted in the centre and thinking of changing it over .

Huh? As far as I know, the front bumpers from 1994 to 2002 were all the same, except for the Sport models. Do you mean 2003?

Nope its from 1998 to 2002, some are all plastic wich seems to be 2000 to 2002 Sport models, and the ones like mine have the black plastic top, and painted steel in the middle (some are chrome) just wandering if the full plastic fits over the one like mine ?

Yes, those are the sport model bumpers. They would bolt to your truck, but would not fit right. The grille is slightly different. Thanks to my buddy Jack, I can't recall exactly how, but the top lines are not the same.

if you can get the sport bumper with the mounting brackets, it will bolt right up to your frame, some have issues with the intercooler lines, but I didnt. I put a 2000 sport bumper and grill on mine a couple of years ago, but have since removed and sold and went with a REAL bumper!lol, you will want the 99+ sport grill though to, to finish the look, it has a dip in the lower section that runs with the bumper.
