I am using 5" offset wheels and put 235s on with some hesitation. There is not much room between the tires. I will have to measure it...

Will the jump to 235s:

1. Affect the speedo?
2. Change driving/towing performance based on the effective gear ratio changing from taller tires?

Thanks...

Yes
No.

Mathematically, there is a 4.4% difference (different make and models of tires will be different sizes, even though their numerical sizes are the same) between a 215 anda 235. Its enough that I changed my speedo (with a tuner), but never felt any loss in power with the bigger tires.

i had a simular experience as CTD NUT, on my 96 the with stock wheels and 235's under a heavy load they would JUST rub (at 80PSI) , i switched to a aftermarket wheel and coulnd probabbly run a 245-255 tire now(the aftermarket wheels space out pretty far) but the 235's fit great. if you run the 235's on stock wheels pump up the pressre if you ar gonna tow/haul. my .02
