factory center caps

i have seen rigs with factory center caps on aftermarket rims and i really liked the look of it, so i bought a set of center caps of a 99 to put on my 99 with weld typhoons. i swapped out the chrome lug nuts for the factory 9/16x1" lug nuts, in hopes eveything would fit. unfortunately the center caps dont fit on there tight enough and come off pretty easily. does anybody know what im missing to make this work?

Hm. My caps have a spring wire that helps hold onto the groove of the lug nut/washer combo. Maybe your caps have a week wire or no wire at all?

Maybe it's like when someone mounts the factory caps on H2 wheels. I think they have to trimm the outer chrome ring if the cap with out touching the lug nut spring "caps"........ that way the cap will sit deeper into the wheel so that the lug nut spring "caps" can sit over the factory lig nuts better for a good "bite"......... does any of that make any ssnse???????? I'm confused myself, and I typed it............
