I have a Genos cover on mine. I bought my '00 in Az and I didn't even know it had the cover on the dash until I looked at the edges. It's a perfect grey colour match.

It doesn't quite fit perfectly around the various vent holes but close enough that I didn't notice it until I was specifically looking for it.

I bought the $139 Genos moulded black plastic dash cover. I had to buy paint and paint it grey. I put JB weld on old dash cracks and weighted it down to get the pieces fit together and sanded it and the underside of the new one and put it on. I weighted it down and let it dry overnight (needs 4 hours). It looks OK (like stock) but the paint getting scratches and the black shows thru so I need to touch it up. I had to drill out where the original dash screws were.

Easier then remove/replace a new top but probably better to get a new OEM top and do it right....my opinion.

I agree. I put the dash top on and while it looked ok, it wasn't perfect and it bugged the crap out of me. I wound up buying a replacement dash from www.wholesalemopar.com for $285 and couldn't be happier. Learn from my mistakes and do it right the first time and be done with it. Be sure and buy the new plastic clips below the windshield if you replace the dash because more than likely you'll break at least one. Waiting on these cost me an extra 2 days.

How many owners with cracking dashes have gone to www.NHTSA.gov and filed a complaint?

A plastic dash potentially exploding into shrapnel in the event of an airbag deployment is a safety issue.

It's free to register a complaint, and it's the ONLY way Dodge will be FORCED to deal with this issue.

This is my fourth truck and I have had them all ford, chevy, toyota, and now a dodge and the **** dash is crackedall over....... My girlfriends '01 was cracked and lucked out and found a dealer that had one he wanted to get rid of and replaced it myself. Think I might try the D.C. thing for my truck.

Thanks.

To paraphrase an ancient Chinese saying:
The replacement of a thousand dashs begins with one filed complaint.
