Your welcome, its a great upgrade I'm very happy with. The standard headlights are very poor IMO, but the Sport headlights and relays are excellent.

No they are not, the two inside bulbs are 9004's and the outsides are 9007's.
Check the links again, for me they open correctly.

The links work fine now. Thanks for the great info! BTW, I'm doing exactly the same install as you.

As previously mentioned, earlier Non-Sport (94-98) trucks require removing some sheet metal behind the headlights to make room for the additional bulb in the Sport Headlights. This page has pics of what needs to be removed:
http://www.turbodieselregister.com/u...39&albumid=431

If you have a later (99-02) Non-Sport truck this sheet metal may already be removed, and its also possible that the wiring for the additional bulb may be present as well. Check for an additional plug taped back against the harness.

Offroad, which wiring diagram did you use for your install? I've seen several that all seem a bit different. Thanks.

When I bought the RIK-RAM kit from Daniel Stern he provided detailed instructions with it but basically I wired it like the one at the bottom of this page: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...ys/relays.html

The only difference is that I used three Relays (one for each pair of filaments) all included in the RIK-RAM kit. Earlier in the thread I described where I tapped into power and hooked up grounds. This can be done different ways depending on your preference, if your using 12ga wire it probably won't make much difference where you get your power but plan it out to keep the runs short.

On another forum (for Intrepids) they recommend The Night Hawks and Silvania Silver Stars, tho they have issues with life span. The non US version (made by OSRAM who owns Silvania) is the best all around, but harder to get.

Here's a question- my truck has the foglight relays and harness under the core support. I bought the switch from the dealer and according to the info I had then the harness for the switch was already in the truck in the dash- just open the dash, find the switch and plug it in. Only problem is all the times I've had the dash apart I can't find the harness to plug the switch into... I can't find ANY harness end (which is supposed to be taped to the main harness behind the radio...) to plug even a harness for the switch into. Any pointers from your experience?

Offroad, thanks for the info. BTW, you may already have VisionPlus bulbs in your housings if they came from the same vendor. I know because I purchased the VP bulbs without looking at what came with the new housings. When I went to swap them out, surprise! I now have a spare set sitting on the shelf...

I think they were Phillips bulbs, but I didn't happen to notice if they were the Vision Plus versions or not. They are very good even on lows (huge upgrade from the stock housings and bulbs) and outstanding when on high beams. I'll take a look when I get some time.

I've had the same lights and the Daniel Sterns wiring kit for about 2 yrs and it still works and looks great.
I'll have to try those Vision Plus bulbs next time.
My lights are really great for illuminating the sides of the road ahead, which to me is the best improvement.

Daniel Stern recommended GE Night Hawk and Philips Vision Plus bulbs for my truck. He says to avoid Sylvania Silverstar/Ultra, Wagner TruView, PIAA, Hoen, and all other brands of blue-glass "extra white" or "xenon matching" bulbs. Not sure about any life span issues and these bulbs were recommended for 9004/9007 types.

Wish I could help with the fog lights, my truck already had the factory switch, harness and relays for fog lights. I only changed out the bumper bezels and added the factory lights. Do a search here for "Fog Lights" in the 2nd gen forums and I'll bet you come up with all sorts of info.

Silverstar/Ultrastar are not blue-glass bulbs, they are the same as the Night Hawks- Enhanced performance. I have never heard of Daniel Stern except from this thread, and I'm not saying he's wrong, but don't follow him blindly. Believe me the issue of good bulbs is universal (except with tuners who want blue lights, or green lights....). Real performance bulbs are designed to maximize the light output based on factory specs for wattage and supplied voltage. Different materials and wire gage for filament and gas compounds.
Blue glass IS bad, reducing the visible light due to filtering of the blue glass, most "extra whites" are filtered glass or over wattage.

Actually, most of the Intrepid guys liked the Sylvania's a lot better then the Night Hawks, reporting better performance.

Sorry, I missed your truck was already wired for the fogs on my first read through.

The bulb info I mentioned, was via emails from Mr. Stern and from reading pages here: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...lbs/bulbs.html
Interesting reading since a lot of the bulbs described are very popular. My truck has whatever bulbs were shipped with the eBay Sport Headlights I installed, (either standard Phillips or perhaps Vision Plus) and I haven't used any of the the other types so YMMV.

The info and parts I got from him on Relays and wiring works great on my truck, and I'm very happy with the results. I will say however that he is not a fan of Non-OEM headlamp units and said most are of poor quality. I priced the OEM Dodge units and they would have cost about twice as much. Except for the minor fitting issues mentioned earlier, I'm very happy with the quality of the one's I purchased especially considering the price difference. There are several brands of Non-OEM headlamp units for these trucks on eBay, the one's I used were made by a company called Eagle Eyes (http://www.eagleeyes.com.tw/) the same units manufactured by other companies may be better or worse.

I ended up buying these same headlamp assemblies that you got. I would of preferred the OEM assemblies, but I can't justify the cost either. Although these Eagle Eyes ones are imported (Taiwan), I hope that they last at least a few years. Since you installed them, have you had any leakage issues at all?

One of my current housings is also an aftermarket unit the previous owner installed, and it just leaks like crazy each time a drop of water hits it.

I also made my own wiring harness, which looks exactly like this one from Suvlights.com:

I tested mine in the sink with a sprayer prior to install and couldn't find any leaks. The truck is not a daily driver but I have washed it several times with a high pressure unit since and so far no leaks. The eBay seller I used said they would warranty them for 1 year and none had been returned for leakage. There were no such claims on the auction however so if I needed to return one who knows.

I have the same sport lights made in taiwan and I have had them for probably about a year now with no leaks. I think they are pretty high quality even being made in taiwan.
