dripping water
dripping water
Just bought a 01 quadcab 4x4
i have water dripping out of the firewall tube for the AC. But i dont have my AC turned on. Is this Normal? Been running my heater all winter.
Just wondering because this makes me seem my AC is constantly running and creating condensation hense the water dripping out on the ground.
Let me know thanks

you sure you dont have your a/c running? what setting are you using? the first three settings are the a/c and the last two also.
if water wasn't leaking that would be a bad thing, b/c it would be in your truck. when it quits leaking you will have a problem.
Anything with defrost will run the AC to remove moisture from the cabin. Perhaps you have rain getting in through the HVAC and its leaking out thru the vent?
as long as you have a hose over it and route it away from the firewall its pretty harmless.

I know what the AC setting are. Duh
I understand that the AC causes moisture and runs away from my cab and out through the firewall then on the pavement. Ive rebuilt complete AC systems before. Just didnt know if AC stays on in all positions.
I wonder what would be causing my compressor to run when my AC is OFF or in an non AC position. Maybe a relay or something? Has anyone run into the same problem i have.
It has not been raining.
Thanks Guys
