Don't Pay For The Labor

I have an 02 with 154,000 miles, spent alot of time trying to decide if I should pay someone to install a VP-44 and a Fass 150 on my truck. Finally bit the bullit and spent the $1100.00 for the VP-44 from Pensacola Diesel and $417.00 for the Fass pump from KLM. Labor for both would have been approx. $800 to $1000 depending on where I went. Long story short, it took me 3 hrs to install the VP and 2 hrs to install the Fass pump due to having to drop the tank with 25 Gallons of fuel still in it and trying to figure out where to drill the hole for the new suction tube. Both are not difficult jobs just time consuming when doing it for the first time. Once its done you wonder why the labor cost is so high, but then again I'm not trying to make a living at it. Phrase of the day (Do It YourSelf).

That is a phrase that I keep telling the wifey on why it takes so long for me to do stuff to the ride. I would rather do it and save some duckets, and at the same time, I know that I am trying to take my time to ensure it is all clean in and around the area. DIY

Not really, I bought a cheap 12pt box wrench and cut a slit in the box end so that I could slip it over the lines to loosen the fittings, and a you need a puller for the drive gear, a small mirror helps also. For the puller a piece of flat stock would work, you use the two smaller bolts out of the air horn and nut and bolt to push on the shaft. I will draw a picture if it does not make sense.
