diesel fuel odor in cab
Re:diesel fuel odor in cab
Does it smell like burnt fuel?
It could be an exhaust leak...check your manifold bolts and others in the area.

If it smells like raw fuel, then I would check your fuel system.

If it is more of an oil smell, it is probably your fumes from the blowby tube. These are more noticeable the first few hundred miles after each oil change.

If that little rubber seal comes loose, it could fall on the exhaust system and start a fire...you can take a pair of pliers and squueze it a bit, several times along it, then snap it back on...or you could use a silicon glue on it.
Re:diesel fuel odor in cab
Check your rubber fuel lines for cracking, it may be leaking enough for you to smell but not see on the ground yet. If that were the case you could probably see it on the tranny or elsewhere under the truck as well.

Re:diesel fuel odor in cab
Could the odor be coming from the catch bottle mounted on the front of the engine to catch blow-by?

Mine made a strong order like you describe and I took 10' of heater hose along with a connector and extended my hose back behind the cab and mounted the catch bottle there.

No more smell..
Re:diesel fuel odor in cab
I had this happen to me. Looked for a month to locate it. There were no drips or wet spots. Finally crawled under truck with it running (man is is noisey), found the smallest hairline crack on the topside of the fuel line. After taking the line off could see the tiny crack. Hard to believe something so small was causing the smell but not leaving any wet evidence.
