There is a procedure to test the pump(s) in both positions, and they will have to follow this protocol if they expect to warranty it from Cummins or DC. Not sure why they feel like they need to ding you $85.00 if it is a warranty claim. I would suggest a new approach of going to the dealer and telling them your truck has poor acceleration, along with poor fuel economy and is dificult to start after sitting for exetnded periods (overnight). Let them figure it out for themselves and it should cost you Nada. Ask around for a friendly dealer / service dpeartment in your area, as there should be other members in your neck of the woods. LE

Every dealer I've ever dealt with quoted a diagnostic charge up front. If indeed it results in a warranteed fix, then the charge is waived.

Beware them finding some other problem you din't bring it in for though. They do this so they can charge for something else to fix that isn't warranty.

You mean if they see something else wrong they will point it out and bring it to your attention? Boy those are some bad bad men!

I had my lp replaced a month or so ago and wasn't charged a dime. The dealer didn't give me any trouble since I walked in there and knew what was going to be covered and exaclty what I was talking about (thanks to this site ). Be friendly and firm at the same time. Good luck.
