Does anyone use these tires or the Firestone Destination MTs, and have a picture of what they look like mounted on a dodge 2500?

I am looking for a Skinny mud terrain. I dont really like the look of a wide tire so i want something that doesn't stick out (too much) from the fenders. Would a 285/75R/16 achieve this?

Also.. What does the R in 285/75R/16 mean? I have seen both and see 285/75/16 more often.

R is for radial, almost any mud terrain is a radial whether it says it or not, unless you get into Super Swampers, Baja Claws, or other extremely aggressive MT's.

A 285 will work great on these trucks, most guys step up to them from stock, just make sure they are an E range tire, not a D.

 

I thought most MT's were D range?

 

I have a set of 285 Dayton Timberline MT's. I have a far away picture of them on my truck in the Trucks for Sale section in the classified ads.

Overall they are an okay tire. Not the greatest i've had and not the worst. I'd probably buy them again because they are reasonably priced. I wouldn't say they are a skinny tire but they definately don't stick out as far as other tires out there.

 

how many miles do you have on the ones in the picture? they seem pretty worn?

 

I was told that they quit makin the timberline... Anybody else hear this?

 

I don't think so.. but if they did, lots of places still have them in stock. (Online anyways) i just looked it up it would be about $552 for 4 285/75R/16.


But i would like to see how the Firestone Destination MT's look on our trucks.

 

ok thanks my buddy was told by a local tire carrier that they discontinued that line and i was pretty bummed...

 

Yeah I need some new ones...they have about 40,000 miles on them

 

I myself am gonna go with 285/75's next fall in a D load range. I rarely ever haul anything, and it should help it ride a lot better.

 

They didn't discontinue it, they changed the tread designs around. The M/T is basically the Destination M/T with the Timberline name on it. I'm getting a set, 285's, for my truck this summer.
